The Forbidden City is one of my favorite places to visit ever since I was a little girl. The dazzling architecture, the mystery behind the Palace red doors, and the many untold stories behind these scenes are all fascinating and continue to inspire me as an adult. The Forbidden City’s incredible history began in the early fifteenth century and served as the Imperial Palace of China’s Ming and Qing Dynasties. Over a period of five centuries, twenty-four emperors ruled from within its high walls and heavy doors until the abdication of the last Emperor PuYi of the Qing Dynasty in 1912.
"Echoes Beyond the Forbidden City” involved many hands and minds to produce. I would like to acknowledge the people who took part in this production and helped me bring this performance to the stage.
