Join us for an experience of exploring the ancient practices of yoga and Qi Gong. We will guide you through movement , breathwork and meditation that will allow you to tap into your own powerful inner pharmacy of healing .
In this weekend we will share the similarities and differences between yoga and Qi Gong. We will practice different styles of yoga asana as well as a range of Qi gong practices and routines to increase immunity and resilience in our physical and emotional body.
We will dive into learning about different energy centers and lines in the body as well as how the five elements impact our constitution and how we show up in the world.
You will be treated to a very special evening dance performance combined with calligraphy and you will have the opportunity to practice this graceful and ancient art form.
You will take home simple yet powerful practices to bring balance into the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of yourself. During the special weekend retreat there will be time and space for you to embrace stillness, relaxation and deep renewal.
What you will learn in Yoga section with Cat:
Cat will provide an overview of Ayurveda which is the sister science of Yoga.
- An introduction to the elements and Doshas
- An overview of practices to help support your mind , body and spirit through the seasonal transitions
- Breathing practices to help balance the nervous system
- Yin yoga practice that follows the energetic meridian lines of the body for grounding and ease
- Standing yoga practices to integrate flexibility and balance
- Restorative yoga practices for improving vagal tone and bringing the body into rest and digest by activating the Parasympathetic Nervous System

What you will learn in Qigong section with Lorelei:
-Qi Channels/meridians and inner organs associated with
-Important acupuncture points for circulating the Qi
-Five Elements in Qigong practice
-Effective Qigong forms for bone health
-Key acupuncture points for releasing pain and gaining vitality
-Qigong for building immunity and enhancing wellbeing
-Qigong for supporting Yin nourishment
-Qigong meditation for charging the brain Qi
-Playful Qi games with partner
-Zhan Zhuang (Standing like tree) Qigong practice
-Explore your own and others' qi fields
-Qigong for healing
No prior Qigong experience is necessary. Please wear comfortable clothing.

Cat has been working as a social worker for the past 3 decades with a wide range of individuals, groups and family systems. Her own practice of yoga, Qi Gong, meditation and breath work has deeply influenced how she lives and how she works with others. Cat has been integrating mind-body practices into her clinical social work and life coaching for many years and helps others to utilize coherent breathing, gentle yoga and Qi gong to help regulate their nervous system and develop powerful tools for stress management.
Cat recognizes that partnering with horses in equine assisted therapy and with nature in ecotherapy allows for healing to occur in ways beyond traditional talk therapy. She uses the framework of the ancient science of Ayurveda to help people to find balance in their body, mind, emotions and spirit with a wholistic approach to daily routines and wellness.
Currently Cat offers both Zoom and in person life coaching and therapy as well as Ayurvedic Mental Health and Wellness Coaching. She leads retreats and various workshops and retreats for the general population with specialties in the areas of addiction and recovery, stress management and coping skills, self-care and setting healthy boundaries.
Lorelei Chang
Lorelei has taught as faculty and guest at many dance schools and universities in CT includes Trinity College, University of Hartford, Connecticut Concert Ballet, GHAA, Miss Porter School, and many more. She also taught Qigong and Chinese Calligraphy at National Qigong Association’s annual conferences, Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Omega institute For Holistic Studies, Beijing, China, Tokyo, Japan and more. She is currently offering only online classes for Qigong, Movement and Chinese Calligraphy.
Lorelei is a professional member of the National Qigong Association. She is a Shiatsu practitioner trained by Nini Melvin and a certified instructor of Radiant Lotus Women’s Qigong founded by Daisy Lee.
Lorelei holds deep reverence and gratitude for her many teachers; especially her mother who introduced her twin daughters to the gift of Qigong in their early teens. Lorelei’s teachers have influenced all areas of her life, and she hopes their lights continue to illuminate through her presence and teachings. Lorelei truly hopes that in her lifetime, whomever she encounters benefits from her work and teachings.
